Tui Na (pronounced twee nai) is an ancient Chinese healing therapy that works with the body’s structure and energy to help restore and maintain good health.
It is one of four main branches of Chinese medicine; the others being acupuncture, herbal medicine and Qi Gong.
Our therapist Sam Tyson is highly skilled in Tui Na. He uses many treatment techniques and manipulations including rhythmic compression along energy channels of the body to relax and re-align (muscles, tissues, joints) to move blood (to remove toxins and bring new blood to the area) and also works with the ‘Qi’ (energy of the body) to transform health.
Tui Na is a hands on therapy which is carried out over a thin layer of clothing while sitting on a chair or lying on a massage table. Tui Nu works with the boy at a physical and energetic level releasing and rebalancing. This holistic treatment is idea for treating
- sports injuries,
- back and shoulder pain,
- digestive problems,
- general well-being.
Tui Na can be used as an alternative to acupuncture for people who are not comfortable with the thought of needles.
